An event organised by Rail.S e.V. and the Saxony Economic Development Corporation on 23 January 2025 as part of the Saxon innovation cluster SET4FUTURE. Twelve companies from the Rail.S and Smart Systems Hub networks presented their digitalisation solutions for the rail system. Roediger Vacuum showed their new smart extraction pistol in action at a small exhibition stand.

The aim of the event was to publicise applications from the networks and to promote overarching cooperation for the railways as the mode of transport of the future.

Andreas Bayerlein, Head of the Railway Competence Centre at Roediger Vacuum GmbH gave a presentation on ‘Intelligent sensor technology for predictive maintenance of train toilet systems - improving the quality and reliability of train toilet systems with high-tech sensors, radio transmission and signal processing’.
